  1. Anyone here interested in dead physical media formats?

Many probably won't remember but in the mid 2000s, there was the last "Format War" we saw in the Home Video Entertainment business - namely HD DVD from Toshiba vs. Blu-ray from Sony. While the latter succeeded, I began to collect several stuff from the first format and last weekend I was unboxing a BRAND NEW and still SEALED HD DVD Player from 2007. 😍

  7. I think I’m getting bored of big tech and the push for data. So I’m going to look at going back to self hosting, use open source where possible and try to de-Google my life.

Feels like this is going to be painful, but worth it. Anyone else given it a go?

I’m not too concerned about me… but the family might not be impressed.

  8. Taking the opportunity of setting up a new 'living room' raspberry pi to switch from Pi Hole to AdGuard Home and from Jellyfin to Emby. Just for the lols of learning something new.

  9. As someone who still buys home media and subscribes to this is disappointing. I guess I'll have to resort to other sources for an archival copy
