    sudo -u www-data php /path/to/nextcloud/occ files:scan --path='/path/to/files'

  7. Unlike the #DDR East Germany which just ripped off the Commodore 64 #C64, the #Yugoslavian Voja Antonić developed a real home grown alternative: the Galaksija.

It was invented in 1983 and the plans to build your own distributed in 1984

  8. Randomly getting nostalgic about Microsoft Bob this morning... If you search for Microsoft Bob on YouTube you'll get results like "Was it really that bad?" "Just how bad WAS it?"

Hot take: it was amazing! It's so underappreciated! But it seems like it was obviously for kids (my brother and I LOVED it) with all of the fun house decorating and secret doors and passwords... kids love that shit. It was just marketed wrong. #retro #1990s #90s #90sComputing #HomeComputing

  9. This #MaySiXth #MSXDay I'm introducing almost-five-years-old #BeardGrabber to #MSX games again. He's probably the same age now as when my parents got our #Philips #NMS8250 #MSX2 #homecomputer, and now, probably about 35 years later, he gets to play on the very same machine, playing the same original copies as I got or bought during my childhood, which feels quite special. 💙
So far we've played some #BubbleBobble, #Brisk and now #PinballBlaster. His #joystick and #keyboard control isn't good yet, but he's still very much enjoying the experience! 💚

I also have some videos of him playing, but I need some time to review the footage to make sure it doesn't show kiddo's face and such. :)

  14. In a reddit thread discussing an old Beagle Bros sticker attached to the default computery sticker location for every schoolchild -- the front of a floppy disk storage box -- a former tech support employee of the company chimed in in the comments and shared a nice little glimpse of the company from the inside.

  15. Using your smartphone as a PC... looks possible. This is my fave post on Krita-Artists right now. The author shows exactly how to do it and shows the peripherals he's running with his smartphone.

    #SwitchableSplitters

Highly recommend switchable splitters for ethernet and USB port you might use for external drives.

[1] Ethernet - to physically switch off hub rather than at settings while looking at external drives. If you're using WIFI all the time then you'll be doodling with settings.

[2] USB - you can keep an ext. drive attached to your computer but switched to the empty port on the splitter - only turning it on when internet is off.
