I have rebuild some of the services on #Proxmox.
I have working:
- #HomeAssistant
- #HomeBridge
- #ADGuard
- #NginxProxyManager
- #Transmission
- #JellyfinI have also deployed some more, like #Seerr, #Radarr, #Sonarr, #Prowlarr - but they are yet to be fully configured.
A bit tricky to mount one network share across multiple containers, but managed to get along with systemd mount mechanism.
It’s now 3am… I guess it’s time to go to sleep…And yet, I’m watching #StarCraft replays…😅

Homebridge 2.0: Homebridge wird nach großem Update zur „Matter-Bridge“ https://www.computerbase.de/news/smart-home/homebridge-2-0-homebridge-wird-nach-grossem-update-zur-matter-bridge.97198/ #Homebridge #Apple #Matter

Checking both #Zorinos and #mintOS for compatibility with my main use cases: #Homebridge and #Jellyfin. So now I wonder which has better disk management, because mount points in Ubuntu have been a nightmare for me in that regard. Trying to specify where an external disk would mount so Jellyfin could see them reliably got me into a bricked state once.
Please don’t come at me telling me editing FSTAB is “easy”. It is NOT. -
After kicking the Google Nests (gens 1 & 2) out of my house last week, I realized I don't really need to run #Homebridge anymore. I am so glad it exists, and it really helped me run my IoTs from Home app for many years.

@utopiah @yaroto98 re #HomeAssistant integrations, you can also look at what is available under #HACS library, search or ask for help in any of the community forums for #HA such as https://community.home-assistant.io or on reddit, discord , git hub. It integrates nicely with #homebridge and also with containerized systems e.g., docker, portainer.

Well #samba, #pihole and #homebridge survived and work on this new #debiantrixie release of #raspberrypi os. But no matter how hard I tried I was unable to get #airprint or #qbittorrentnox to work as they did on #DebianBookworm 😔

#Homebridge decided to implode on my #RaspberryPi and refuses to work again. Multiple reinstall later, on two different Pi’s, and still nothing. Gave up and decided to install it on my Mac only to run into more issues…It’s working again, but don’t like having to keep my machine awake, also have to redo all my automations 🙃

@hobbyblogging klingt super!

@estevez IF you’re in the Apple ecosystem Apple TV is an apostle no-brainer. Such a QOL upgrade over anything else.
And a decent smarthome hub. That + #HomeBridge can get decently close to #HomeAssistant for most users. -
In HomeKit Code-scannen -> Verbinden … -> wartet lange bis Timeout, nix geht mehr.Ist doch scheiße jetzt :'( was ist denn jetzt kaputt?

Hm.
@paul I was about to buy this for #Homebridge but then I realized that I have moved nearly everything to native HK by now and the old Raspberry Pi is more than enough.

There's something infinitely funny to me that I have to bounce my Nest devices over to HomeKit using HomeBridge in order to bridge them into Home Assistant because Google is just that awful that I have to use Apple's standard to get their crap working. :corgi_wtf1:

We're still definitely at the gaffer tape, bendy mirrors, and magic smoke stage of making #smarthome tech behave in any sane way for people who aren't terminally tech-oriented
About half of everything works just fine, and the other half requires wiring a heap of potentially unreliable open-source projects together behind the scenes.
Add on to that an attempt at de- #shittification by removing various Google owned devices and services and it's extra fun.
Right now, our smart home stack consists of Home Assistant, #HomeKit (Apple) with #HomeBridge supplying some services, legacy Google/Nest things and devices from a couple of key vendors and a handful-and-a-half of others with one or two devices. .
I'm happy to faff about with this stuff in my spare time to make things work, but making something useful and usable for a person with multiple disabilities who relies on a voice assistant and a partner who doesn't have the bandwidth to play around in #HomeAssistant isn't straightforward by any means.

The Home Assistant x Nest saga continues. The temperature sensors and Nest x Yale smart locks are only accessible through a private API, so the Home Assistant integration doesn't work with them. There is, however, a HomeKit integration that taps into that API. :blobfoxthinkgoogly: So, uh, I have a Homebridge server now.
I don't recommend anything from Google or Nest for your smarthome, jeez. :blobfoxmeltsob: Oh well, not my house, so I'm just happy to get it working.

Why oh why do I hate updating Homebridge on the NAS?
Every few updates it breaks the logon interface / system.
Even worse this time around there was no warning. ARGH!

It's been 0 days since I updated a #homebridge plugin and the accessory stopped working. When will I learn?

Does Home Assistant allow you to add devices controlled by it to the iOS Apple Home/HomeKit app, perhaps in a similar way to HomeBridge? If so, is that full-featured (such as letting you set light color, intensity, etc (assuming those features are supported on Home Assistant for that device, ofc))?
