And while we're on #HolyWells here's another I sought out near Polzeath, North Cornwall last week ... St Kew's Well.

Happy Monday, everyone 😊
I posted a new piece on my #blog ... about encounters with the local wildlife (a bit of a change from my usual stuff about #StandingStones and #HolyWells 😁)
It starts like this ...
"I don't really accept that one magpie foretells sorrow, but I'll happily anticipate joy when I see two."
Big thanks to @Devonkiwi and @Glamazon for the photos 💗

We did find St Edith's Well in the end ...and I haven't seen one quite like this before ... but, believe me, we had to battle through some foliage and then there was an iron grate in front of it ... so I couldn't strip off and immerse myself in the water 🤪

I swear I had planned the next video to be a proper mapping video, but here we go again with #Wikidata. The project did involve mapping on #OpenStreetMap, though. And just in time for #Bealtaine. https://youtu.be/OV4aL2PdjIc?is=XGovVVguGMQ_A2g-

Working on adding holy wells and holy well sites to #wikidata to be able to generate a map of Ireland with only the wells named after female saints. Very slow going, but patterns seem to emerge. Counties Kilkenny, Laois and Carlow finished, working on Wexford now. Look at that diversity where the Normans landed first! Brown is St Catherine, purple St Anne, red St Brigid, turquoise St Margaret, golden St Helen (Helena Augusta), dark blue Mary (pure coincidence). #opendata #HolyWells

I've started writing Wikipedia articles about some holy wells. Pretty happy about this one which is well represented in the Schools' Collection: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lady%27s_Well%2C_Danesfort?wprov=sfla1
I just need to tidy the references a bit, bc some are duplicates.

My wife's book (which I designed) 'Holy Wells of County Cork' has been getting some nice reviews which I have posted to our website. The first print run of 500 copies has sold out in just a few weeks and we are now waiting for a reprint to arrive.
