The BBC article doesn't touch on the danger here of how this strengthens the Holocaust Denial narrative, by this I mean both the images, and the BBC's coverage.
I suspect the number of AI generated images on the Holocaust is very low compared to other AI tragedy related imagery we're seeing, but the fact that the BBC has chosen to cover the Holocaust images and not other tragedies is selective at best.
I agree it's a concern, but it seems meant to distract and promote a specific narrative.

The article is pretty clear re your question - #47 & co are implementing the American version of #HolocaustDenial, removing reminders of unfortunate past incidents where nobody really meant any harm, for fear that we might assume that racism and malice towards people because of their skin color was a problem in the US. (The segement after Holocaust Denial was sarcasm, just in case anyone is confused)

@vwdasher btw it reminded me that #Netanyahu also dabbled in #holocaust denialism. He tried unsuccessfully to claim it was the Palestinian national leader al Husseini pushed the Nazis to commit to the final solution. #YadVashem scholars were very quick to shut him down. I wonder why they don’t in Musk’s case. Maybe they should before he’s invited to Israel on a state visit again…
