Puh. Das ist echt heftig. Ich hab grad beim Lesen feuchte Augen bekommen. Wie menschenverachtend können Menschen sein?Eigentlich hatte ich mich auf einen Besuch in der Zukunft bei all den geplanten Investitionen gefreut. Das ist mir nach diesem Absatz aber gehörig vergangen:

Sie würde dort auch nicht viel wiedererkennen: Der Holiday Park, mittlerweile einer der größten Freizeitparks Deutschlands, wurde von der Gründerfamilie vor drei Jahren an einen belgischen Unterhaltungskonzern verkauft, der mehrere Freizeitparks in Europa betreibt. Vom neuen Management will sich niemand zur Liliputaner-Stadt äußern: Die Unterlagen von damals seien alle weggeworfen. Die Marketingchefin und der Parkleiter sehen ein bisschen blass aus, als ich sie im Park anspreche und Fragen zur Liliputaner-Stadt stelle. Sie haben damit nichts zu tun, das war alles lange vor ihrer Zeit. Am Ende einigen sie sich auf diesen Satz: »War eben eine andere Zeit damals.«

Yes absolutely. I also think #Saskatoon needs to connect as much as possible to the #Meewasin trail network. Any day you can bike through a linear park (where you can hear chickadees sing) en route to work, school, shopping, etc is a good day. We can bike from #HolidayPark on the SW edge of #YXE all across town, past the zoo & to the swale on the NE edge of town almost completely separate from cars. No headlight glare, no splashing etc. We need to expand on that success!
