Questo è per i miei amici #italiani (della mia età).
Ieri sera mi è capitato di vedere, per caso, il remake di Kenshiro in 3D...
L'ho voluto vedere perché comunque non potevo resistere al richiamo della tecnica dei Cento pugni di Hokuto... 😚
Non mi aspettavo di essere sorpreso ed in effetti non lo sono stato. Quel tipo di cell shading non mi piace, quello studio in particolare non riesce proprio a dare dinamismo ai propri modelli e sono sempre troppo legnosi e rigidi. L'effetto non è male ma in termini di animazioni, a quel livello, è migliore quella tradizionale.
Poi uno direbbe: «vabbeh, almeno col modello 3D hai più consistenza e i disegni non cambiano da una scena all'altra o da una puntata all'altra.»; ebbene mi sono dovuto mordere la lingua, le scene minori usano modelli di pessima qualità ancora più rigidi e poco dettagliati.
Cosa non mi è piaciuto affatto? I dialoghi sono terribili sia in italiano che in inglese, ma la cosa peggiore è che le scene di combattimento diventano progressivamente monocromatiche, che invece di aumentare il livello di dramma rendono i modelli ancora più statici, il bello dell'animazione sono proprio i colori saturi, questa scelta artistica è stata veramente molto infelice.
Penso che me lo terminerò di vedere lo stesso comunque... 😚

OK people, the 10th episode of May I Ask for One Final Thing absolutely blew my mind. I had been joking on @animefeminist discord that this show was Fist of the North Star but shojo... but I did not expect an episode chock full of direct, obvious references to that show. Shojo adaptation recreates Kenshiro's fight with Heart was not on my bingo card. I'll try posting some comparison screenshots tomorrow. It's absolutely bonkers.

Hokuto no Ken had this peculiar property of mixing turbo-testosterone-violence-comes-first masculinity with the complete opposite of it: from realizing the consequences of violence, to being very visibly emotional about it... to doing household chores because why not.
