I received an email from "eStatement Social Security Administration by GovDelivery Electronic Communications <[email protected]>"
With the title:
"Completed: View Your Electronic Statement Wednesday, July 15, 2026"
The email itself looked legit at first glance. However, the email address from which the email originated is not the SSA (see above).
Also, it has a button for checking the statement, but it apparently links to a ZIP file. I didn't click the link.
That's complete and utter hogwash.
