I'm walking around with Crawley the #beardedDragon we recently adopted on my shoulder while I clean house a bit, showing him the #paludarium stocked with locally found frog and salamander tadpoles, and chilling out together while I watch a bit of TV. My understanding is that before his previous owner got sick, he would carry the lizard around a lot, and I don't want Crawley to lose that friendliness. He's a huge contrast to my #hognose #snake Aziraphel, who's always been "spicy" about being held 😅 (I CAN hold him, but if I try to carry him around, he just gets puffed up and hisses at me 😩)

partner had successful surgery (yay) and we settled in to relax and then my smallest and least capable son got stuck behind his enclosure backdrop so we had to make him an exit path. because of course he would find a way back there 😆

I still can't believe my spicy little guy has eaten TWO MICE IN A ROW ❤️❤️❤️ you guys know what an ordeal it's been for over a year, having to force feed him weekly since he was starving himself to death... Over $1000 spent at the exotic animals vet... I'm scared to hope this might be the end of it, but oh my God not having to force feed him makes me SO HAPPY, it's a stressful situation for us both every time 😭 I'm still just doing fuzzies every five days or so, I'm scare he'll reject a hopper even though based on his width that's supposed to be what he's up to... His skin doesn't sag anymore but I'd still like to plump him up a bit, especially in winter. He used to be a lot more passive once picked up but he puffs up the whole time now, probably assuming I'm gonna force feed him again 😅 he's the most difficult reptile I've ever had... All the cornsnakes, leopard geckos and alligator lizards were easy peasy compared to him. But he's such a cutie, it's hard to stay mad. Dumb lil murder noodle ❤️
