It is done! All three Miscast Swordmaster and the Permadeth one are painted up.

For this set, I put myself up for a challenge: It's the first time I actually used oil paints for miniatures, and to make things more interesting, I relied on the Zorn palette, using only Burnt Umber, Red, Black, and White, mixing all the other shades from those four tubes.

I experimented with different ways to thin the paints (lighter liquid ending up being a huge boon: It dries a lot faster), how to mix things, how to push paints around, achieving a somewhat metal look with the non-metallic paints, mostly using only one sized brush (and that one not even with that fine a tip), and most of all: Coping with the tediously long drying times between the different paints and layers.

All in all, I am pretty happy with the result I must say. These four guys are each unique, and while they share the palette, they definitely each have their own paint scheme, and from half a meter, they look really good.

Moving forward like a futile March at a gun line. Obviously my happy place that. I’ve extra coats of yellow on all the marines, a wash of Agrax on them, and have been slowly getting through layers of white on the shoulder pads. And I’ve got that extra Knight done! Look at that for some productivity.

Ready for some mud. Might even get notions and tuff’ed the armies bases now. Really happy with this low effort scheme, and got a wee hit from completing a paint up of something. Anyone else churning through their thoughts on the new #KillTeam edition? For me:

- New Vespid look amazing, way better than I could have imagined them looking.
- Hive City is decent setting, I was a bit unsure of the rig setting of Season 3 of KT2.0
- I’m actually a bit sad about the shapes, it was a cool idea, admittedly not executed terribly well 😂
