  1. Gestern „The History of Sound“ im Kino gesehen. Die Kritiker fanden das Licht zu fahl, die Story zu dünn, die Schauspieler zu emotionslos… Und ich hab’s geliebt von Anfang bis Ende!

  2. A great interview with former Talking Heads frontman David Byrne* on AI, the war on Iran which was NOT voted for etc.

"AI is sucking up human knowledge ... throwing it back ... and they are charging you for it. "

I'd add that dodgy billionaires are also tweaking the output to suit their agendas and exploit populations more. It begs belief that governments or civil services incorporate it at all into their departments. It is such a window to interference.

    * Byrne is also author of an authoritative and entertaining book which reveals that music is ultimately shaped by the venues it gets played in and the media form it is played on. For instance, the number of beats per minute can rule out playing a song at certain live venues because the venue's reverberation will make it muddy.

  5. Our 2022 Book We Stuck the Most Post-Its Inside was, hands down, Sounds Wild and Broken by David George Haskell. This marvel of a book reinvigorated the work we’re doing on the revised 4th Edition of the museum’s Gallery Guide & provided many new perspectives on sounds & listening. Can’t recommend it enough.
