"The Dictators live at CBGB" recorded on this day in 1977 at the Temple of Rock ’n’ Roll in NYC

Dictators, who were the link between the proto-punk scene of MC5, Stooges and NY Dolls and the punk explosion of the '70s

In memory of the one and only Poly Styrene, singer, songwriter, and frontwoman of the punk rock band X-Ray Spex.

Poly passed away on April 25, 2011, at the age of 53 from metastatic breast cancer. 💔🖤

So, 15.

So, 29.

A 1978 Black Sabbath/Ramones gig was promoted as 'Punk Rock vs Heavy Metal': it got ugly and dangerously out of control
When Ramones were booked to support Black Sabbath in 1978 they viewed it as a fabulous opportunity to broaden their fanbase. Things didn't quite work out as they had imagined
