HOT SAUCE APOCALYPSE
Yesterday the lunch place had run out of hot sauce.
In Australia, this is barely news.
Aussies don’t really do hot sauce.
But some of us do.
Some of us have built whole fragile emotional ecosystems around a few drops of chilli on lunch.
I agreed to sweet chilli sauce instead, because apparently I am very mature.
But I did register my disappointment with the manageress.
Politely.
Firmly.
Historically.
Then I went for my walk.
Then I did my breathwork.
Then I noticed the day still had a slight dent in it.
This caught me off guard.
I had only just been saying that everything is perfect all the time now.
Apparently, “everything” includes the lunch place running out of hot sauce and me quietly wanting the owner told so this national disgrace never happens again.
That is how the ego works.
It does not just want lunch.
It wants justice.
And there it was.
Not a catastrophe.
Not a spiritual failure.
Just a tiny place where preference had turned into grievance.
The hot sauce was missing.
The peace was not.
I had simply misplaced it for a moment under the sweet chilli sauce.

I mean, #Historically, many people in the original 13 colonies at the time were actually pretty against rebellion against the #British for a very long time. A lot of people think it was a united front and everyone was onboard for it, but not really, many people deserted during the war, many defected toward the British side especially since for a very long time before the events leading up to the battle of Yorktown in 1781, the British had the advantage on all fronts. They had the naval advantage, they had the tools advantage, they had the advantage militarily compared to the Americans, so many advantages that if not squandered, could have easily left us in an even worse situation, but they squandered there advantages and lost as a result, well... that and the #French helped us and paid the price for it years later between 1789 and 1794 or thereabouts, the American Revolution a big cause of what lead toward the French rvolution which was very much economical in nature at the time as economics lead toward the suffering of people in the streets. I write this to illistrate just how young our country is compared to others, as well as this anti-immigration view is rich coming from us, because the #US wasn't created just by Americans, without the French as well as people like Alexander Hamilton, this country would never have existed as it is now, so its incredibly hypocritical for people here to have any sort of anti-immigration response, because we'd still be paying stamp taxes now without immigrants who helped create the US as a whole. The sad part is we're payingway more #Taxes now than the British ever imposed on us and most of us don't have representation at all, we just pay it every year and have to take it on the chin, so we're no better off than we were before 1775 but are facing a government that's progressively taking our rights away every day and it seems hopeless even though people are fighting back.All this to say we still have a long way to go to get out of the teenage phase, and if we survive long enough, we might end up as prosperous as countries like #France, #Denmark, and many other #European countries that existed hundreds of years before the US ever was thought of in any scale.

How do you explain that #politically, #historically, societies tend to go the same way - like full stop.
We can go far back, much earlier than #Rome, to see a common pattern whereby a #society has a climax period and then the fall from grace that eventually leads to collapse.
#Modernity in itself is a joke, because the modern promise can't be kept, as it's backed by the same "eternal growth" touted by #empires before the invention of #capitalism, and capitalism just accelerates the problem.

Top Democrats said they intend to pursue as many judicial confirmations as possible in November and December.
✅ It’s part of an effort to #rebalance the federal #courts after Donald Trump was able to name 234 conservative judges to the federal bench.
But the results of the Nov. 5 election and the willingness of Democrats to dedicate themselves to confirming judges could determine how aggressive they will be in an effort that could require the Senate to spend weekends approving nominees over Republican opposition.

This practice is believed to have its roots in #Celtic mythology, where bees were seen as messengers between the human world and the spirit world. The presence of a #bee after a death was thought to signify the #soul leaving the body. The tradition became particularly prominent in the 18th and 19th centuries in Western Europe and the United States.
To tell the bees, the head of the household or the "goodwife" would approach the hives, gently knock to get the #bees' attention, and then softly murmur the news in a solemn tone. This ritual was believed to keep the bees informed and prevent them from leaving the hive or dying. The #custom underscores the deep connection and respect that people #historically had for bees, viewing them as integral members of the household and community. -
