  2. Before industrial candy production, 18th century confectionery was an art form requiring specialized skills. Sweetmeats combined spices and sugar, intended as digestive aids for the wealthy. Ever tried sugar plums or crystallized ginger? These have roots in pre-industrial candy-making traditions when sugar was a luxury item.

  3. The Silk Road Gourmet has slowed down in the COVID era but still has a few posts like this one on a recipe from Apicius (no idea why she translates vinum as raisin wine though) silkroadgourmet.com/what-to-do #histodons #archaeology #historicalCooking

  4. We have decided to try and make a fulacht fiadh (fulluk feeah). If anything it'd look like a damp fire pit. I recommend everyone read up about them as the #archeology world is a bit torn on their use.

We have everything needed here to have one.

Summer 2023 will be three things. 1. Slightly under boiled potatoes, 2. Bronze Age Hot Tub, 3. Barrels of brewing mash.

Bronze Age Hot Tub is my ska band.
