#historians of #science and #computing, lately I've been seeing today's critics of AI suggesting the #intelligence in #artificialIntelligence can be more usefully understood as belonging in the framework of nation-state intelligence gathering.
Is there any indication that the founders of the field intended such an interpretation, or blurring of the definition of intelligence? The field was founded at the height of the #ColdWar after all.
