#TBT: look at this gorgeous car! It’s particularly relevant as we rapidly approach the start of a new racing season. This year, baby Dani gets to try out her very first race car! (At our house, you get your first race car when you turn 5).

#TBT: I once drove this gorgeous race car inside Angel Stadium, Anaheim, California. Despite having pneumonia, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to race around in the mud during the Monster Jam intermission.

I still remember driving through the entry tunnel onto the arena floor, and looking up to see thousands of flashes as fans took photos. It was a bit surreal. During the race, I almost slid into a monster truck parked along the edge. It was unimaginably fun.

FYI: this is a 1959 Dodge Coronet, and the remains of the parts car I used to supply my much nicer coupe restoration project.

#TBT to a couple years ago when I set up "junkyard therapy" for my (women) friends and my three daughters. We set up this junk car and let everyone work out their rage and aggression with baseball bats and sledgehammers. It was exhilarating!

#SideShotSaturday: Here’s one of the four or five movie prop hearses from Terminator 3 (we briefly owned this one a few years ago). The effects team drilled 100+ holes in the car, filled them with small explosive charges, then painted over them. During the gun fight scenes, the charges were detonated in a carefully controlled sequence to simulate bullet holes.
