This many interviews is just a complete waste of time for anyone, especially those of us in the job market that is already complete and total TRASH!

It seems unbearably immature, especially since they're playing with a person's ability to financially support themselves. I can't really think of a single good reason to ghost an interviewee. I want to be charitable and assume it's not cowardice and wanting to avoid some kind of confrontation, but I can't really imagine what else it could be. It takes two seconds to email a rejection form letter.
I swear to god anytime I overhear some rando Boomer saying nobody in my generation wants to work, it's as close as I get to being physically violent and punching them in the face.

I have had two friends applying for roles recently land in endless interview trains. One made it 7 rounds before they asked for a significant work product as a “test” the other went through 9 interview rounds before being given a “test assignment” in both cases the labor ask was over 8 hours of professional skilled time. In both cases the candidates declined to perform.
What the heck is going on with interviews like this? Are they just trying to scam free expertise?
