Hi! Call me Marsh or Zubat. I moved from another fedi instance last month to try out Sharkey. I have a personal account listed in my bio.
The stuff I talk about are fandoms I'm currently getting into or fandoms I just suddenly remember (some listed at the end of this post). If I get recommended something, I might not get around to it for a long while.
I'm a huge shipper. I might usually post about rarepairs, but I like a lot of relatively common ships too. If I remember something I used to be into, you can probably bet I'll remember some ship I had from it too. I have a good amount of polyamorous ships as well. Despite all this, I'm actually arospec (vague wording because I'm not sure which identity in the spectrum I actually am).
I wanna write fanfic! At the moment, I have a bunch of ideas that I've been messing with on-and-off for Pokemon, Skip and Loafer, Dungeon Meshi, Hilda, etc.
I'm interested in indieweb stuff as well, and maybe I'll try making a personal/fan site for myself (emphasis on "maybe").
My opinions on shipping discourse are a bit more complicated than pro or anti, but I'm leaning closer to anti. I think profic opinions sound too much like "free speech" activists. Think about the paradox of tolerance: you can drive people away from a space by being too permissive about what can be posted there. If you disagree with that, you probably should not follow me because I get carried away ranting about it sometimes.
I think I'd prefer my followers to be at least 20 years old just to give myself some leeway to be a bit crude on this account. I'm not super sure about having this limit higher than 18 because a lot of things I like have a lot of younger fans, but I'm going with it anyway.

@bookstodon I'm currently #Reading the #Manga #Hirayasumi, a slice of life story set in Tokyo. It's fun, without being slapstick or even obviously humorous, it's sweet without being saccharine and has a nice set of pretty different people, all dealing with past and current dreams and life in general. Just the kind of manga I tend to like.

#MangaMonday 09 “Hirayasumi” by Keigo Shinzo
Hiroto Ikuta is the type of guy who is immediately trusted by grannies, but clams up when confronted with attractive women his age. He had a bit part in a movie when he was young, and moved to Tokyo to pursue an acting career. Unfortunately that thing with women meant it ultimately went nowhere and now, at 29 years old, he works at an artificial fishing pond. Still, he’s easy going and mostly content with his life.
Hiroto’s cousin, Natsumi, was just accepted into a Tokyo art school and it’s been arranged for her to stay with him (don’t worry, it’s not THAT kind of #Manga.)
This is an urban slice-of-life, albeit with plot development. Natsumi’s adjusting to art school moves rather quickly. Hiro’s life is slower paced, but a series of unfortunate encounters with an overworked office lady appears to be building up to something.
Ongoing with one of seven volumes in English (Viz.) The next drops in August.
