Hi All, The left hip replacement surgery went really well and the surgeon was pleased with the results. I am home now and the pain levels are currently at or below what I was dealing with. Consultant told me my left hip is worn down (I sort of knew as have been in pain for so long and getting worrse). Had a replacement of the other one 11 years ago so I do have experience, (could not have been carer for my late Alzeimer's suffering husband without that one). eeled of all the risks (incresed because I had cancer this year but quality over quantity any day. Surgery maybe May/June. I guess it was too much to hope for sooner but at least there is a flicker of light at the end of the tunnel.

It turns out that the spinal block takes about 48 hours to fully leave the body and that's when the real pain starts. What jolly fun
Today I have mostly been feeling very sorry for myself interspersed with periods of OWOWOWOWOWFUCKINGOW and some light whimpering

Ye gods, this had best be worth it. Hip is pretty much as I expected but the knee is Very Ouch. They said it "might" be cos the leg is getting used to its new part and they weren't wrong 🤕
