Also, I‘d like to share something for yesterday‘s „Fotovorschlag“ (picture suggestion), a mainly German photography project.
The suggestion was “Von Innen nach Außen“ (from inside to outside) and I’d like to share the view from inside Himeji Castle to the outside area.

Surprising — or not — how little has changed. The necessities of war, perhaps. Halfway up Himeji Castle on the left; halfway down the U.S.S. Hornet on the right. Imagine climbing this in full battle armor and carrying a longbow.
(The railings at Himeji Castle are obviously for the tourists.)

What really made me laugh was the notice in the elevator at my hotel in Himeji!
Translation:
"Have you forgotten anything?
Lost items ranking:
1. Charger (mobile phone)
2. Clothing
3. Accessories/WatchesBonus section:
Pouches, cosmetics, dentures, e-cigarettes, etc. Please double-check your belongings and have a safe trip.
We look forward to your next visit."
Dentures in the bonus section killed me :)

91 days out of 171 total travel days are already gone...
Nevertheless, today is packing day again so I can see & discover many more things!
Backpack - packed
Suitcase - packed
The parcel for the post office tomorrow - packedP.s. I hate packing days...
Why isn't there a version of long journeys that doesn't require packing? -
Onward to new shores!
The sky is a perfect blue today and the storm has passed. So the perfect time for a daytrip to an island :)
Boze-jima, I am on my way.Hopefully there won't be too many waves, as I have a tendency to "feed the fish" / get seasick ...

My loot today:
Game Boy Color games (incl. some special stuff)
Model trains (incl. Neon Genesis Evangelion style trains)The trains have been well hidden in the back of the top shelf. I don't know how a japanese person should have been able to find them as it was even high up for me :)
The only weak point in this buy is the Yamanote line train as it has written "weak motor" next to the price.
Maybe it will need some extra love ;) -
Another good place for rainy days are Japanese shopping streets. These are often covered (so rain is no problem) and offer everything from ¥100 shops to opticians, bridal wear, mobile phone shops, and hairdressers.
Don't be fooled, though; the shops in the "small" streets can easily have 5 or 6 floors.#japan #travel #shopping #rainydays #shoppingstreets #himeji

Part 3
Thrift stores:At a lot of stores you will find a "junk" section.
It is basically stuff that has not been checked but is super cheap (so far everything I bought there was working, but maybe I am lucky). You can find everything there from an HDMI cable, CPUs, RAM, games, cameras, lenses, ...#japan #himeji #thriftstore #bus #gundam #gunpla #nintendo #sony #xbox #consoles #games #travel

Part 1
Thrift stores:Since the weather is especially nice again...
I went browsing a bit at the local thrift stores.
I had to take some buses for that.My favourite shop today was Hobby Off Himeji Mitachi (you can get there once every hour with the busline 36 from Himeji station).
2nd photo everything in this picture is about Gunpla / Gundamn.
3 & 4 they also have a lot of consoles and games!#japan #himeji #thriftstore #bus #gundam #gunpla #nintendo #sony #xbox #consoles #games

It's really convenient to be able to keep an eye on your laundry and control the room cleaning via the hotel TV while relaxing and watching anime.

Part 7
Himeji CastleYou also have to admire the Japanese way of doing things.
Like faces in castle stone walls or cute little warnings. And a little bird decided to jump infront of my lense!
Did you find the face?
Hint:
2 round eyes + a nose and massive eyebrows :) -
Part 6
Himeji CastleSome shots from the top.
If you are afraid of noise levels with a lot of students:
No problem there, as 2 Americans "having a conversation" are definitely more noisy then 2 complete classes of Japanese students!
