November 16, 2024 – Sourland Mountain Preserve This morning started as planned. I had a haircut with Victor at 8 AM, and as usual, he nailed it. It’s the same cut I always get, inspired by Dr. Hugh Culber from Star Trek: Discovery. Victor knows exactly how to make it look sharp and clean, and honestly, it’s worth the drive to Ewing Township, even if it’s nearly an hour each way. As I drove home from Sourland Mountain Preserve, still reflecting on the morning’s unexpected encounter with a Solitary Sandpiper, I remembered Flounder Brewing’s 11th-anniversary celebration and Oktoberfest party was scheduled for today. This event had become an annual tradition for Bhavna and me, one we both looked forward to each year. Flounder Brewing hosted a brewer's hour with Head Brewer Doug Duschl Jr and Flounder Brewing’s President Jeremy "Flounder" Lees this morning. It was an intimate affair with about a few dozen people.
