Chronic illness in the form of first undiagnosed and then undertreated hypothyroidism had grounded me for years. As I slowly got my meds right I could finally exercise again. Sitting by a stream on New Year’s Eve 2020 on a greenway walk, I knew I needed more outside in my life.

Trail run up both Glassy mountains this morning followed by walking the dog to the river, and I officially passed my 500th recorded mile (combined hiking, trail running, and walking, but mostly hiking and trail running). That was the goal I’d set for this year adding almost 200 miles to last year’s recorded movement total of 307 miles.

Got a CT scan to determine whether or not I’m detailing with a chronic sinus infection, and then stole away to get in a few miles solo at Bledsoe Creek.
