Early morning walk. At the top of the next hill, I suffered an overheating incident necessitating an unpleasant half an hour lie down in wet grass. No mobile / 4g connection. Eventually, after an unsteady yomp of a couple of miles made it back to civilisation, via a taxi, and back to the car. Great views though. #highpeak #sidmouth #bankholidaymonday

Taken from above Hayfield and the Kinder Reservoir. One of those lovely cold winter days for walking

Across the valley is the hill of Mount Famine where each year in May they hold a fell race starting in Hayfield.

Apparently the hill's name originates from the time of the Enclosure Acts when farmers struggled to make a living from the hills poor land.

Climbing up to Lantern Pike above Hayfield , it was a cold start but worth it to catch the sun rising over Chinley Churn.
Tucked up in the North West of the edge of the Peak District it’s an area not as well frequented as some other parts of the Park. A shame as this a lovely area for walking.
