What could you learn about yourself by answering one question a day—and reading your answers again a year later?
For the 10 days between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, you’ll receive one question each day. Answer privately, save your responses in the 10Q vault and, one year later, they’ll return to your inbox.
Serious, silly, searching—it’s entirely up to you. Next year, the process begins again, giving you an annual snapshot of who you were and a chance to see what has changed.
10Q runs September 11-21, 2026.

"The #Seattle Police Department will work with local #Jewish communities to ensure their safety during the #HighHolidays amid surging anti-Jewish violence nationwide, #KatieWilson, #mayor of Seattle, told JNS.
“Seattle has no place for #antisemitism or hatred of any kind,” the mayor, who identifies as #socialist, told JNS.“I know Seattle’s Jewish community is acutely aware of a rise in antisemitism and is feeling anxiety and concern,” Wilson said. “I believe every Seattle resident needs to be able to participate fully in civic life without fear, and my office welcomes dialogue with the Jewish community for sharing what they need to improve safety.”
Wilson’s comment to JNS appears to be the first time she has addressed #Jew-hatred in the city publicly since she became mayor in January.
#RoshHashanah begins this year on Sept. 11 at night and lasts two days. #YomKippur, which lasts a day, begins on Sept. 20."

"It may be the middle of summer on the #Gregorian #calendar right now, but on the #Jewish calendar, we are approaching the end of the year. The month of #Elul begins this year at sundown on August 13. Although Elul contains no major Jewish holidays, it is quite an important period of reflection and preparation for the #HighHolidays, which begin with #RoshHashanah on the first of the following #Hebrew month, #Tishrei.
According to Jewish tradition, our fates are written on Rosh Hashanah and sealed for the upcoming year on #YomKippur. Because of that, Elul becomes an opportunity to strengthen our connection with #Hashem, or G-d; ask for forgiveness; repent; and return to Him. This process, known as #teshuvah, invites us to reflect on both our personal behavior and religious practice.
However, asking Hashem for forgiveness is not enough when we have wronged another person."

"A bumper crop of new kids’ #books about the #HighHolidays is hitting shelves in 2026, surprising close observers of #Jewish children’s #literature.
“It is unusual for multiple #Sukkot books to be #published in the same year, especially of consistently high quality. It’s very exciting,” said #HeidiRabinowitz, a Jewish #librarian and host of the #Book of Life #podcast, which describes itself as “a podcast about Jewish #kidlit (mostly).”
#Rabinowitz noted with appreciation that one of the books was coming from a mainstream secular press, rather than from the smaller boutique presses that tend to release books about Jewish holidays.
She offered a possible explanation for the surging interest in the harvest holiday in particular: “Sukkot is family- and environmentally friendly, and I think that is a big part of its appeal.”
But the new books showcase a wide range of Jewish traditions and values..."

"#Kosher consumers in the #UnitedStates may have to rethink their #RoshHashana brisket after a fire devastated one of the country's largest #koshermeat processing plants. The fire has put more than 600 people out of work in a town of under 3,000 residents.
The fire on Tuesday that destroyed most of the #AgriStar #Meat and #Poultry processing plant in #Postville, #Iowa means that there will most likely be a shortage of kosher meat ahead of the #HighHolidays, and the meat and poultry that is available will be more expensive.
"The damaged facility means a significant portion of kosher #beef and #chicken slaughtered and sold in the #US will not enter the kosher supply chain. Kosher consumers will feel the impact of the tightening supply with reduction of availability," #Rabbi #MosheElefant, CEO of #OUKosher, which provides kosher certification for the plant, said in a statement."

Susan sent me this for Yom Kippur and I had to share it with you.
She wrote in perfect Hebrew:
"Dear Inbal
Easy fasting
May you be sealed in the book of life (gmar chatimah tovah)
Much love and prayers
Susan"
This is what it's all about 💙

On Yom Kippur, we stand between who we were and who we’re becoming.
Not perfection, but truth: seeing where we missed the mark, asking forgiveness, and finding the courage to grow.
Fasting brings clarity, reminding us what truly matters.
May this day guide you to honest reflection, change, and compassion.

Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, is the holiest day in the Jewish calendar.
It begins at sundown on Wednesday, October 1st and continues through nightfall on Thursday, October 2nd.
This is your guide to Yom Kippur.
To those of you fasting — may your fast be meaningful and easy.
To those of you not fasting — may you find connection in other ways.

This isn’t a race. Transformation takes time — not 10 days, not a deadline.
The High Holidays call us inward: reflect, repent, commit. But lasting change is slow, gentle, step by step.
So if you’re overwhelmed — pause. Breathe. Let Shabbat remind you that rest is holy, presence is enough, and you have time.
Shabat Shalom 💙

The Water Pouring Ritual on Hoshana Rabbah is a ritual we can reclaim today - blowing the shofar and pouring a water libation this coming Tuesday after sundown.
Mishnah Sukkah 5:5 ...and three [shofar blasts] for the filling of the vessel with water, as described in the sequence of the ritual of drawing the water for the water libation (48b); and three when pouring the water libation upon the altar...
Taanit 2b:4 Just as Lulav is by day, so too mentioning [rain] is by day, Or maybe from the pouring of the water?...Just as the pouring of the water is by night, as the master says "And their Karbon Mincha and their libations' is even at night" so too mentioning [rain] can be at night...
The original purpose of the ritual was to ask for rains in the appropriate agriculture times for the new year. Even if you don't garden, the ritual can have spiritual significance.
What is water to you? What does it represent? What is your relationship to water?

The 10 days from Rosh Hashanah to Yom Kippur are referred to in the Jewish tradition as the days of repentance. During this period, Jews who observe the customs request forgiveness from anyone those individuals may have wronged in the past year.
And certainly self-forgiveness is an important part of repentance too, say many philosophers. Getting there, though, is not easy.
