CW: Hibike Euphonium, S3 EP13, Season Finale, Series Finale!!!
From start to end, this series was to make this final episode worth it. I absolutely love the writing for Kumiko's character. She understood the assignment, her growth into the reliable person who could be shown to place the needs of the many over the needs of the few, or the one.
She could have, at any point, asked Kuroe Mayu to concede her position as the chosen soloist, but despite strong and intense emotional currents that would have made it easy to do so, persisted in only allowing the best, and sticking to it.
Her character embodies everything best about humanity. Full of contradictory, cursed, and cringe traits. She confronted them all head on, accepted the emotional damage, the pain, and chose the best option every single time.
The win at the end, thoroughly deserved. This isn't just another story where coming out ahead was guaranteed. It is within that background of uncertainty, that makes victory shine even more brightly.
Congratulations to everyone involved in this anime. The staff of Kyoto Animation gone too soon to see the beautiful continuation and ending crafted by the new heirs of KyoAni. The seiyuu who gave life to the characters, especially Kurosawa Tomoyo and Anzai Chika who carried the series from the very beginning as lead and support.
The stunning turn as Asuka by scene stealing Kotobuki Minako. The final denouement and conflict brought by Tomatsu Haruka's gentle but firm Kuroe Mayu. And many many other supporting voices I can't add in without making this an essay rather than a toot!

O que mais me irritou nessa temporada de #HibikeEuphonium foram as discussões no fórum, com um monte de gente insistindo que a Kumiko não estava fazendo nada de errado, nada para se questionar, como se a Mayu fosse uma vilã rasa ao invés de uma personagem tão complexa quanto todas as outras.
Tinha gente se recusando a reconhecer que a Kumiko tivesse qualquer arco dramático nessa temporada.
