Sound! Euphonium 3 almost ends the series on the worst timeline. Kumiko and Reina end up on different continents instead of as lovers. The only way it could have been worse is if Kumiko ended up with Shuuichi.

I was pretty embarrassed for Kumiko at the end of Sound! Euphonium 3. After three years of trying to win gold at Nationals, Kitauji finally did it. And Kumiko didn't even play the Euphonium solo because Mayu beat her.

Sound! Euphonium 3 introduces a new 3rd-year student and euphonium player, Mayu Kuroe. She's exactly what the series needed to spice things up and not retread the same plot the series already used multiple times.

In happier anime production news, #KyoAni Sound Euphonium! was actually ready 6 months ahead of release, and the staff have been pretending in blogposts and social media that they're only a little ahead of time.
Kyoto Animation is the only studio that can afford to be like this, and it shows in how high quality their shows are.

EDIT: If anyone has these posters (or any posters from the Newtype magazine), the ones that I have are in roughly B2 (515 x 728 mm) and B3 (364 x 515 mm) paper size, respectively. Best bet is probably to search up something like "B2 frame" or "B3 frame" and get them imported from Japan, i.e. Amazon Japan.

Wanted to share this performance of Rimsky-Korsakov's Scheherezade arranged for wind band, from the soundtrack to Hibike Euphonium. Scheherezade is one of my favorite pieces, and this recording is fantastic. I think the arrangement does a great job of capturing the texture of the piece, which I feel is really important in adapting orchestral music for wind band. :mmikusing:
