Sol Vineus Hibernal "late harvest" 2024, Morava region, Czech Republic
Grapey notes typical of a French hybrid, (it's a Chancellor x Riesling cross, 1944 Helmut Becker). Some herbal notes, like silage, with a bit of sliced apple and tomato stem.
Viscous on the palate, canned pears with juicy acidity. Long finish, with 14% alcohol well integrated.
Enjoyable!
Under a Nomacork.
(Purchased when we were visiting Prague)

A happy #Hibernal #Solstice to all in the northern hemisphere, have a cracking summer in the southern. 🍾🥂
Our ancestors celebrated the birth of the year's new #sun, a time of #rebirth, of #hope, & achingly slowly, more light in our lives. A chicken's stride a day more light, they say, which TBF isn't a long traipse forward. Six months until the year's longest day & 3 till we sow the seeds of the food we hope to eat. A day to remember nature, the earth & all life that's here trying to live. ✌️
