Things I bought at #emfcamp2026 A very nice young lady sold me a complete set of hand coloured planet hexpansions at the #hexpansion Market. All nine planets which I'm embarrassed to say, I had to look up on the Internet which order to lay them out in! 😄
Only problem is that a #spaceagon badge only has 6 slots. So I would have to choose my favourite six planets, which would leave three planets feeling left out! 😄

It is a whole week since the last day of #EMFCamp and I finally have my #spaceagon actually talking to wifi again (since 2024 lol), updated, keyboard enabled, and otherwise #hexpansion populated. A couple of nice simple blingy new ones added this year, plus a couple of these "bender hats" from 2024 (one modified with a broken rainbow hat I found on the ground and repaired to wire in — just had to resolder this one and get it working again!)
I do wish I had had time to hunt down some more hexpansions. (I had a vague plan to actually make my own LoRa one for 2026, but that met up against reality and is still some parts sat on my desk lol.)
I wish I had sought out a few more hexpansions, especially some of the more functional ones. Maybe 2028!

@drfootleg #GenAI may or may not be useful to people who already have the skills to spot the mistakes, unnecessary verbosity and complexity but the problem here is mostly the lack of #care.
I expect people at #EMFCamp (or an other #hackerCamp) to care. There isn't a lot of security in the #Tildagon but it's okay to plug a random #hexpansion or install an app in it because I expect people to care enough to not break things on purpose or release garbage they only sort of kind of know what it does. I think that's the majority of people attending these camps, but I guess not all of them. -

Today I’m tinkering with the #hexpansion template for #EMFcamp to hopefully make something that will fit the badge when I pick it up. 😎🧑🚀 Not seen or used one before.
Packing only as much as I can carry on the train on Thursday, and then my other half is joining on Friday afternoon so the bulky stuff and electrics / usual camping niceities can go in the car.

I was looking at the #EMFcamp badge for too long and now want to make it walk. If anyone wants to also work on this hexpansion, please let me know - maybe we can have an hexapod army in 2028.
This is a CH32V003 running code by @deshipu - a clever I2C to servo bridge. There's an INA219 current and voltage measure chip for the servos.
Tried to document as much as I can on the PCB itself.

Last year at #WHY2025 I sat under the right canopy at the right time. The EMF badge people approached Arturo182 to design a keeboard hexpansion, which he sadly had to decline. But I sat there saying:
"maybe I can design something" 👉👈
Two prototypes, one job termination and a new friend @sodoku (who wrote the firmware) later and we somehow ended up here: an official hexpansion for you to get for EMF camp.

Oh no. #emfcamp is coming up and I dropped my #tildagon badge onto one of my #hexpansion, ripping off the hexpansion connector, a trace and pad and several small components. 😱
The first re-usable badge and I trash the one part that is supposed to stay the same over the years..
Managed to #pcbrepair most of it though, 👍 by glueing the trace and pad back into place and redo everything else with solder paste. Verified electrical connectivity.
Now I just have to wait for the replacement parts. 😅
