Staff hoped #Stanford might fund the group through the momentous Nov #election.
    
In supporting the project further, the #university would have risked alienating #conservative #donors, #SiliconValley figures, & members of #Congress, who have threatened to stop all #FederalFunding for #disinformation #research or cut back general support.
