Hace mucho que no hago el #ViernesDeMitologíaGriega, pero este finde va a ser especial y en vez de cultura griega os hablaré de cultura romana. Aunque hoy sea sábado y me pase los días de la semana por el forro.
Antes de que la Iglesia igleseara, los romanos celebraban las #Lupercales, en honor a la loba que amamantó a Rómulo y Remo.
En la #culturaromanaantigua, encontramos cómo entremezclaban mitología con historia. Como flipados han existido en toda la historia de la humanidad, a la nobleza romana les encantaba inventarse orígenes divinos para sí mismos. Este fue el caso de Rómulo y Remo, fundadores de Roma, que se inventaron para sí mismos un origen en el #Marte, dios de la guerra heredado del #Ares griego.
El rey Númitor, descendiente de #Eneas (héroe griego hijo de #Afrodita) gobernaba Alba Longa, situada en los Montes Albanos. Su hermano Amulio se rebeló contra él, le destituyó y le mató a todos sus hijos varones. Númitor tenía una hija llamada Rea Silvia, a quien su tío convirtió en vestal a la fuerza.
Las vestales eran sacerdotisas consagradas a Vesta, diosa del hogar (la griega #Hestia). Debían mantenerse castas toda la vida, bajo pena de muerte si se saltaban sus votos.
Marte pensó que Rea Silvia estaba muy buena y la impregnó cuando estaba dormida. Hay textos que interpretan esto como una violación (y recordemos que el consentimiento en la Antigüedad no era contemplado como en nuestra cultura actual, donde hace dos días se discutía si acostarse con alguien dormido era violación), y otros como una experiencia mística la flipada de Rómulo, se especula que o bien la muchacha se dio una alegría por sí misma con un señor de por ahí o en efecto fue abusada.
Rea Silvia se quedó embarazada y dio a luz a dos gemelos: #RómuloYRemo. La muchacha fue encarcelada por su tío y su destino difiere según la fuente que leas.
