  2. saw a post about geckos and wanted to post this photo I took of tiny (then undescribed) day gecko species i found right outside my house but i can't seem to find it. here's a another I took while on a survey of the herpetofauna of that region 8 years back in 5 days from today.

i believe the common name and even the scientific name has changed but I know it as the Termite Hill Gecko (Hemidactylus triedrus) and it does get a lot more vividly coloured than this.

  4. CW: Roadkill of snakes

The greater peril... which these two venomous #snakes discovered... This striking juvenile common krait tried to prey upon the beautiful coral snake coiled around it in attack or defence. But fate had other plans. #roadkill

  5. Two of my favourites in one! #coffee & #herpetofauna ! Arabica grows in the shade of larger trees & they thrive in mixed-species plantations, coffee is also a cash crop providing good economic returns to farmers. So three cheers to coffee ☕️

Did you know that coffee plantations can be important habitat for amphibians and reptiles? We found that maintaining a thick layer of leaf litter in coffee crops is critical…
