  1. #Starmer's ''reforms' have taken the UK's #HouseOfLords from 85% appointed cronies to 96% appointed #cronies. He ejected the 92 #HereditaryPeers, but kept the 26 bishops and about 700 cronies.

It's over a century since the Parliament Act 1911 promised the UK an elected upper house, but not "immediately". The number of elected members remains 0%. Zilch. Nada. Nothing.

96% appointed cronies. And they call it "democracy".

  2. #Starmer has just made the #HouseOfLords even worse.

In 1958, the Lords was a set of #HereditaryPeers & bishops. On Tuesday, the House of Lords (Hereditary Peers) Bill passed, making the Lords a bunch only of #LifePeers & bishops. 68 years from a club of #inbreds to a club of #cronies & donors.

The #ParliamentAct1911 promised an elected upper house, but it never arrived. 115 years later, the so-called "#LabourParty" leaves bishops as the only independent Lords. This is not #democracy.

  3. Sounds like good news. The last of the UK's hereditary peers pose for a group photo before being stripped of their political privilege.

Reality: it's bad news. The #hereditaryPeers and the #bishops are the only members of the #HouseOfLords who are not cronies appointed by the#PrimeMinister.

The whole House of Lords should be replaced by a democratic chamber, but until then the hereditary peers and bishops are the least stinky part of the stinky sewer of corruption. #TheMadCountry
