    Herbie Nichols - The Prophetic Herbie Nichols Vol. 1 & 2

    I didn't realize that Nichols had written Lady Sings the Blues, but there you go.

    This is a 1955 release that was originally on 10” (with a second 10" being Vol 2 on the flip side…I knew that seemed long for. 10”!).

    Really interesting and unusual playing, yet still accessible; accompanied by Art Blakey on drums and Al McKibbon on bass.
