"A great paradox of being alive in this civilization is that we have come to dread and devalue the triumph of having lived, forgetting that to grow old is not a punishment but a privilege — that of having survived the loneliness of childhood, the brash insecurity of youth, the turmoil of middle age, in order to begin the continuous creative act of holding on while letting go."

"I've met Henry Miller. I saw a man I liked ... a man who was likeable, not overbearing but strong, a human man who was sensitively aware of everything. He's a man whom life makes drunk. ... He is like me."
~ Anaïs Nin

🫧 Bathtime Diary #2 🫧
Time: 12:10AM
Temperature: Not good enough!!! Laundry was going all day though, so I'll refill with hot water in half and hour...
Bubbles: Shampoo, specifically Pantene Pro V. They were fluffy but then I added a couple squirts of conditioner to keep my skin soft.
Epsom Salts: Not tonight because I'm lazy and didn't wanna open the tub of it...Cont'd...

I think of all the streets in America combined as forming a huge cesspool, a cesspool of the spirit in which everything is sucked down and drained away to everlasting shit.

Kindness, patience, and generosity with others because everyone is working out their own destiny in their own way, says Henry Miller.
The first book he wrote was a disaster, and everyone told him he was a terrible writer and should just quit. But his failure was part of the journey.

3 Jahre kein Gaiman?

Part of the act of creating is in discovering your own kind. They are everywhere. But don’t look for them in the wrong places.
