One of my lab colleagues will present a #metabolism-heavy study at the upcoming #ASH22 conference: we found that #leukemia can become resistant to BET-inhibition by using #lactate, often thought of as a metabolic byproduct, to keep their metabolism going. We also show that simultaneous BETi and inhibition of lactate-driven metabolism can reduce leukemic engraftment in animal models with both cell lines and primary samples: https://ash.confex.com/ash/2022/webprogram/Paper164701.html #science #medicine #hematology #oncology
