Daniel March, Congregationalist minister, hymn writer. He criticizes another religion for withdrawing from society. Doing nothing for public welfare, no pity for the poor, no plan for the relief of misery. Interest in well-being of fellow beings is a distraction from spirituality. Virtue-signaling is a no-no.
