I flip back and forth between #HeliBoard and #FUTO.

The only thing keeping me on FUTO is the fact that it fixes the annoyance of #AOSP Android assuming that hyphenated-words are new words and trying to spell-correct them. If Heliboard ever fixes that bug, I'll be on it forever. It's so close to perfect now, it's ridiculous.

O #HeliBoard é o #teclado livre que uso no Android. Ele tem suporte à digitação por gestos, usando uma biblioteca fechada. A novidade é que ele quer produzir uma biblioteca livre e para isso está pedindo colaboração ativa para coletar dados de digitação, mas não em suas mensagens. Quem quiser contribuir, fica a dica.

@RealGene Do you use Google keyboard? If so, switch to Heliboard #heliboard or Fossify Keyboard #fossifyapps , on f-droid.
Then, activate Incognito keyboard option in Signal. It should help.
Other option, switch your entire system to iodeOS @iode or /e/OS #eOS

1️⃣ am Smartphone #whisper (https://f-droid.org/packages/org.woheller69.whisper/). Funktioniert gut, aber brauchst zum umschalten die richtige Tastatur. Bei mir ist das #HeliBoard (https://f-droid.org/packages/helium314.keyboard/). Funktionieren beide offline.
(#Futo, https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.futo.voiceinput, ist evtl. schneller und schöner, aber das willst Du vermutlich nicht 😉. Würde aber auch offline funktionieren.)
2️⃣ unter Linux speech note, https://github.com/mkiol/dsnote). Empfinde ich aber als nicht so geschmeidig wie am Smartphone.

Falls das nicht klappt, sag einfach Bescheid.

🤔 Ich habe ja jetzt einige Leute im Umfeld, die zu #GrapheneOS und Co umgezogen sind. Höre aber oft, dass vielen die Nutzung der #FOSS-Tastaturen aus #FDroid schwer fällt. Die sind alle ne gute #Autokorrektur gewöhnt. Und wenn ich ehrlich bin, nervt mich dieser Schwachpunkt auch etwas.

Hat da jemand Ideen, wie man da noch nach bessern kann? Kennt jemand noch Alternativen, die ohne Internetanbinding auskommen?

Dachte schon daran vorzuschlagen, #Gboard zu installieren und die Netzwerk-Permission zu entziehen. Keine Ahnung, ob das dann aber noch ordentlich funktioniert. Mit #FlorisBoard, #HeliBoard, #SimpleKeyboard etc. ist es den meisten einfach zu friemelig, weil die Autokorrektur zu oft Schwachsinn vorschlägt.

On Android, use #FlorisBoard, #HeliBoard, #AnysoftKeyboard or #FutoKeyboard

Thats like using a #VPN only in the browser, or adding #FreeSoftware apps on a system full of #spyware... doesnt make much sense and you leak more data than you think.

ALTERNATIVE #04: TASTIERA ANDROID* (GBOARD)

DISCLAIMER: questa non è una pubblicità per la FUTO, ho pensato di fare questa guida per le ragioni che spiego e perché mi sto trovando benissimo!

Molti pensano che la tastiera virtuale del telefono faccia parte delle componenti base e che non possa essere cambiata, invece è una semplice app.
Un'app che ha accesso direttamente a tutto quello che scriviamo, prima che venga crittografato dalle varie app di chat (anche le più sicure)...
Perciò, se la tastiera si connette a internet, può inviare ai server tutto quello che digitiamo.

Per questo, se teniamo alla nostra sovranità digitale, la tastiera è la prima app da sostituire.

Ho ottime ragioni per fidarmi di quella installata di default nel mio telefono degooglizzato, ma per chi usa un regolare sistema Android la tastiera di default è quella di Google, Gboard, che è nota per inviare ai server pacchetti dal contenuto per lo meno sospetto.

1) FUTO Keyboard
Poco tempo fa ho scoperto questo bel progetto della FUTO per rimpiazzare tutte le funzioni (anche le più avanzate) di Gboard, escludendo però ogni collegamento a internet durante l'utilizzo e utilizzando basi di dati più trasparenti (il training per il modello di digitazione a scorrimento, per esempio, viene fatto su base volontaria tra utenti che scelgono di contribuire).

Detto ciò, parliamo di una tastiera open source (più propriamente, source available) che ha integrati:
- dettatura vocale multilingue (voice input)
- immissione a scorrimento (swipe)
- dizionari per la lingua e per la ricerca delle emoji
- pannello di selezione delle emoji di sistema
- funzioni per spostarsi facilmente nel testo
- funzioni di copia e incolla avanzate, tra cui la cronologia degli appunti

È ancora in uno stadio iniziale di sviluppo, perciò ci alcune cose sono ancora in corso di implementazione e, per esempio, i dizionari e i modelli vanno installati a mano, e i menu di impostazione sono solo in inglese per il momento.
Ma ciononostante è sicuramente la più completa e promettente!

2) Heliboard
Heliboard è un progetto open source già molto ricco di feature e con la possibilità di essere completato da una libreria opzionale per l'immissione a scorrimento (che però è quella proprietaria di Google, estratta da Gboard).

Purtroppo Heliboard non è presente nel Play Store, perciò dovrete installarla tramite F-Droid

3) Altre tastiere open source sono anche Florisboard e Fossify Keyboard.
Le funzionalità sono simili a quelle di Heliboard, eccetto che non supportano lo swipe.
Nessuna delle due supporta la dettatura vocale.
Per chi cerca il massimo della trasparenza, però, sono le più raccomandate (insieme a Heliboard).

Fossify Keyboard è reperibile sul Play Store.
Florisboard si può trovare su F-Droid

4) La tastiera minimalista: Simple Keyboard
Se tutto quello che vi serve è una tastiera, non sopportate l'autocorrettore e i suggerimenti e non vi interessa inserire le emoji, allora questa è la vostra tastiera ideale. Potrebbe rendere anche più veloce un vecchio telefono perché occupa pochissima memoria e non ha bisogno di processori moderni.

I have been on the lookout for a sensible Gboard replacement that wasn't making my (voice) typing experience painful, and so far only FUTO Keyboard managed to provide that.

It has really good offline voice typing as well, which is something I use a lot.

I can not recommend this enough!

Auf #Android niemals die vorinstallierte Tastatur verwenden, gerade bei #Samsung mit seiner bloatware!

Stattdessen #Heliboard (wenn man Autokorrektur braucht) oder #Florisboard (um stattdessen die Tastatur so anzupassen, dass man auch so schreiben kann)

Software-Tastaturen sind (theoretisch) #Keylogger und brauchen volles Vertrauen!

Se tem algo INDISPENSÁVEL no meu dia a dia é um gerenciador de área de transferência! Nunca mais ficar preocupado ou chateado com ter que procurar um programa fechado para fazer um control + c! Só leveza na mente. Bão demais. No PC uso o #CopyQ e no celular uso o do teclado Android #HeliBoard (F-Droid). Também recomendo esse teclado por outros motivos, então aproveite :blobBone_jump:

I haven't tried swipe typing a whole lot with FUTO. The best thing it has going for it is the voice dictation, which is far better than any of the #Vosk-based FOSS options that are out there now, like #SayBoard.

I agree that #Heliboard is simply the best FOSS keyboard out there, hands down.

I find myself using gboard (firewalled off from the internet, of course) recently, as I can just fire away at full speed with minimal corrections afterward (two-thumb typing).

Hu... i'm just trying the old #blackberry keyboard for android. I really loved it back in my bb10 days. It works much better for me then any other android keyboard. The key spacing, the key placement and the word prediction are really great. It's a shame #heliboard or #florisboard doesn't have a layout like the blackberry keyboard...

OpenBoard está muy bien pero, Heliboard se basa en él y añade bastantes más opciones, lo que hace que, ¿sea el teclado libre para Android más completo que existe?. Sea como fuere, un teclado muy recomendado para los dispositivos del robot verde.

@raiderrobert "Swipe" makes sense for the kind of gesture I use for switching language on Samsung keyboard: one swipe - one result. Swipe left, swipe right, etc. So, I prefer the term "glide typing" for an uninterrupted characters input. In this sense, I and developers of #HeliBoard seem to agree.

I also wish touch keyboards nowadays had put the screen estate for the space bar to a good use such as not only showing the language, but switching it by swiping. It's just so intuitive!
