So last night I woke up to go to the bathroom and I had a brand new and interesting idea for a sci-fi story. When I came back to bed, I figured that I would forget my idea, so I set a reminder. Then, I went back to sleep.
I woke up this morning with the idea still fresh in my mind. Apparently, I had set a heisenreminder.
"Wut?"
A heisenreminder is a reminder that you don't need, once you set it. If you did not set your reminder, then you'd need it. However, once you set it, you remember yourself what you need to remember, and do not need the reminder.
It is like a heisenbug.
"A what?"
A heisenbug is a software bug that disappears or alters its behavior when you observe it. If you've never run into one, you're either not a software developer, or have not done it long enough.
