  3. I'm trying to understand something in the data that my garmin heart rate monitor returns when I do a run. I think it might be explained by breast movement, but I haven't been able to find any real conversation or research on the topic.

    According to the monitor, I have a low ground contact time, which means that my running form is good. Yet my vertical oscillation measures really high, which indicates that I'm moving up and down too much, and waste engery. ie, it means my running form
    is not good.

    Now, I know for a fact my form is pretty good, and subjectively, I don't feel like I'm getting a large amount of vertical movement when I run. Yet the data has been consistent...

    It's occurred to me though that the movement of my breasts is likely physically jostling the hrm sensor as I run, making my whole body vertical movement measurement inaccurate. It also makes me wonder whether it's impact my perceived ground contact time too?

    Yet the only discussions I can find on the topic are how breast movement impacts
    actual running performance, rather than the accurate measurement of it with heart rate monitors.

    Are there any runners out there that can confirm if I'm on to something here, and if so, what I can do about it to get accurate measurements?

  5. have anybody tried that app to stream Heart Rate to cycling computer using BLE?

    I have Bryton 750 and want to pair it with my Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 for HR.

    But spending over 60PLN for app that can be not usable sounds bad for me.

Frustrated is a nice way of putting this 😔😔 Went out for a 15 minute warm up run before my weekend long run, put my chest strap on after making sure it was wet like the instructions, took it really easy and lo and behold I’m maxing out in the 190’s again 😠. Decided to keep going for the rest of the run to see if things had calmed down but no such luck #running #heartratemonitor #PolarH10

Put my Polar H10 on yesterday for a run, after making sure the terminals on the strap were wet, as instructed but less than a minute into the run, hr was up in the 170’s. Had to go back home and swap for my arm monitor #running #heartratemonitor #PolarH10

  11. Anyone aware of a wearable #HeartRateMonitor that has good #privacy practices? I don’t care about other features, just looking for decent BPM tracking over an extended period and the ability to export the data in a usable format. No sticky pads of any sort hopefully, having skin issues with them.

If I could advice people to get one single piece of equipment as an exercise companion, it would be a heart rate monitor with Bluetooth/ant+ connectivity (provided the person has a compatible device). Even the best one, the #PolarH10, is under 100 USD. My training has never felt more precise and I’ve never felt more conscious of my fitness since I got it. Plus it connects to everything! The Erg. My phone. The bicycle computer. It’s incredible
