i have a question.
could someone help me with the captcha?
i'm trying to upload a project, https://github.com/averlice/mclient to the directory.
problem is, when i go to register, it wants a stupid #captcha using #hcaptcha and i need help!
if anyone could do this, that would be great! -

Gut, ich hab sowieso keine offene Registrierung.
Also hab ich proforma schon, damit ich im Friendica-Register gelistet werde.
Aber ich lehne alle Registrierungswünsche generell ab. Hab das auch so stehen, dass meine Instanz ausschließlich für mich, Familie und enge und wirklich gute Freunde ist.Aber statt #hcaptcha verwende ich z.B. bei meiner keycloak-Registrierung #mosparo

Ok so I had to update my #eBay login, which requires dealing with the absolute dumpster fire that is #HCaptcha, they do have the text question which is fine I guess, however I'm unclear if I succeeded or failed so many times that I was forced to reset my password, which either way worked out but still…

Unfortunately, Botpoison is failing to block spam on my two static forms. I might have to go to Cloudflare Turnstile if honeypots fail. Do any of you have recommendations for protecting forms on your blog?

I tried making a Neocities account today. I was stopped dead in my tracks by an unlabeled field with protected input in the signup form. I thought it was the password field, but there's a labeled password field with protected input a little further down, so I have no idea what that first one is. Just a little further down is an hcaptcha challenge that forces me to give my email address to hcaptcha because hcaptcha can't be bothered to implement actual accessibility

Just got a hCAPTCHA prompt for "items you can wear on your head" (not "that you wear on your head", but "that you CAN wear on your head") and… how hard am I trying? Because I could definitely wear the flip-flops on my head if I tried!

I tried to get into my #hcaptcha account to get the accessibility cookie. It wouldn't let me in, so I tried forgot my password, guess what, I was challenged with an hcaptcha. Asked Aira to solve the captcha to reset the password and never received the email. So I can't get in to get the cookie.

I'd be prepared to bet that this approach has better #accessibility and works better with screen readers than things like #recaptcha and #hcaptcha, too.

OpenAI'M: Micros(ha)ft Shell Company Using Its Technology To Kill
Earlier this month, the company that brings us ChatGPT announced its partnership with California-based weapons company, Anduril, to produce AI weapons. The OpenAI-Anduril system, which was tested in California at the end of November, permits the sharing of data between external parties for decision making on the battlefield. This fits squarely within the US military and OpenAI’s plans to normalize the use of AI on the battlefield.
Anduril, based in Costa Mesa, makes AI-powered drones, missiles, and radar systems, including surveillance towers, Sentry systems, currently used at US military bases worldwide as well as the US-Mexico border and on the British coastline to detect migrants on boats. On December 3rd, they received a three-year contract with the Pentagon for a system that gives soldiers AI solutions during attacks.

Je crois que je vais arrêter d'utiliser des captchas, en tout cas plus de manière aussi systématique. Les récents témoignages que j'ai lu sur hcaptcha et son manque d' accessibilité m'ont fait beaucoup réfléchir, vu que j'utilisais cette solution en alternative à Google ReCaptcha depuis des années. Il est temps de changer d'outil !
