Haworthia comptoniana cultivar with a very grandiose Japanese name (透明凸艶窓美白線模様 N水晶コンプトニアーナ)

I was worried about killing this guy for quite a while but it's done great so far. I just up-potted it the other day.

It's doing so well, in fact, that it's grown a pup in a spot that makes it extremely difficult to remove 🤔

ハオルチア・花火錦さんが開花✨
下葉も枯れてきているし、花茎２本はさすがに疲れるやろと思うので
いつも通り、切って生け花にしておきます。

バジルは外管理で弱ってしまったので、室内の水栽培でリトライ中です。
ちゃんと根っこも分岐してきたので行けそうな気がする…！

2時間ほどの多肉狩りをしただけなのに、帰り道にドッと疲れていた。なんだろうと思ってたら、商品棚に並んでる１つ１つの多肉植物をよく観察してメモしたり調べたり、ウチにいる多肉植物の写真と見比べて名前を確定させたりしてたんだった。
先日、バラバラと寄植えされた鉢を買って、それぞれの名前がわからなくて自分なりにある程度“アタリ”をつけていたんだけど、今日、その答え合わせをしてみたらほぼほぼ正解してた。知らないうちに随分と見分けられるようになったし、詳しくなってきたんだなー。嬉しい♪
それでもまだ全然知らない属性の多肉植物もいっぱいあって、多肉植物が大好きだから、まだまだ知らないことばかりなのも嬉しい♪

Indoor rack has reached its final form (probably)

I upgraded the middle shelf to 65W Brim Panel As. The top shelf is already 65W, and the bottom shelf has plants like haworthias that don’t like too much light, so it will stay on 45W.

All of the panels stronger than 65W that I’ve seen have the LED driver stuck to the top of the panel, so I wouldn’t be able to fit them in here like this.

Thus: final form achieved

I went to the ISIJ Big Bazaar in Gotanda last weekend and picked up some nice stuff.

Copiapoa tenuissima (魚鱗玉). The dark skin is so striking against the white cotton. And look at all those pups!

Mammillaria herrerae (白鳥). A pretty common variety but I like the contrast with the copiapoa.

Haworthia lockwoodii. Gotta have some vegetables with your meal!

I hit another bucket-list plant store today: Ozaki Flower Park in Nerima

They had a nice outdoor section with an OK assortment of succulents, but I underwhelmed until I went inside to the second floor. They have a huge variety of all sorts of stuff.

Haworthia “Maken” (魔剣)—“Magic Sword”. I love these goofy-ass names.

I went to a very cute pottery studio yesterday for a one-off lesson. Of course I made a small pot for a plant.

It turned out that the owner was a big succulent fan, and we went on and on talking shop about our various plants. At the end he insisted on gifting me one of his Pachypodium densiflorum seedlings.

I also bought this gorgeous haworthia from him.

Yesterday's meeting of my orchid society was especially good and not just because one of my plants won a ribbon (see previous post) and we discussed the upcoming show. I got a #Dracunculus vulgaris and a #Pinguicula esseriana from one of my main plant swapping buddies; I got a starter colony of #Blaptica #dubia #roaches from another member; I picked up a #Crassula ovata, #Pachyphytum oviferum, and some sort of small #Haworthia from other members; and I sold an old glazed ceramic orchid pot.

1/ @plants #Houseplants from the #WindowsillGarden for a sort of #FensterFreitag - 2 of the shots (2nd n replies) have the window glass and one a bit of frame, as background (the other on a countertop, beside with window light!)
The little #Haworthia was looking colourful- Haworthiopsis now, I haven't been that active in houseplants in recent years, so still not used to the 'new' names which aren't even that new anymore...lol Views backlit and front lit.

I am so proud of my tiny-tiny babies in this 2” terra cotta pot. The alien eggs Haworthia have taken over a year to reach this point from frozen near-dead parent leafs! They also have a tiny Graptopetalum mendozae roommate. 😍
