So we've have been kicking it around and there is nothing like trying. We're going to stand up a #Fediverse instance for our area of #Wanaka and #Hawea and see what our community can make of it. Best case vision we have is an #enshitification free that allows for harm free community communication and classified ad type exchange. Any thoughts much appreciated. Contact Energy applied under fast track legislation to be able to reduce Lake Hawea's water levels by as much as 8m. When they felt like it.
Locals were up in arms and farmers joined the protest. It was always a bizarre concept and the government has just rejected the proposal.
If Contact were to build the solar farms they already have consented, they wouldn't need to try it on with this sort of nonsense.
