  2. #prototyping a moose for #ghostgardening an ensemble puppetry workshop @zone2source

This is a #hauntological exploration of moose missing from the Dutch landscape, by embodying them as a small team of puppeteers.

  3. "What is important to note here is that all four factors are products of urbanisation itself. Urbanisation makes ghosts...I believe that the totalitarian impulse of the Communist party regime to banish all spirits other than that of the party itself can only increase the haunting of urban China. We must learn to live with our ghosts rather than repress them." aeon.co/essays/rapid-urbanisat h/t @subtopes #hauntological

  4. perhaps my biggest announcement of the year: the new home of EXIT Press is over on Substack!

Substack is going to be the heart of everything we're doing, including new #art and #writing, behind the scenes stuff + calls for submission.

we would REALLY appreciate if you could go and subscribe to us on Substack. two times a week, you're going to get EXIT Press in your inbox. it might be news about what we're working on, weird art or #hauntological writing, interviews with authors and artists, or a call for subs.

we're still going to be making physical #zines, artbooks and publications, but we want to provide an easy way for us to share art and writing outside of the confines of those media. every time we open a call for subs we get 100+ submissions, and we accept maybe 30. #Substack is going to allow us to share a much larger amount of art - which might be experimental, unfinished, or in a completely different form. best of all, it goes straight to your email - but you can comment directly on Substack itself.

we have an opportunity to build a real community here, of #weird, #haunted, #nostalgic, and lost artists and writers. we've got a chance to take an EXIT with you.

come be part of our community, tell us what you want to see from us, and shape what we're going to be.

remember, watch out for EXIT Signs. they're going to be in your inbox twice a week.

  5. #introduction

i'm kieran cutting, and i'm a #designer, #facilitator and #researcher. i co-run fractals #coop with three other fantastic designers, facilitators and researchers. we work with organisations trying to make social change and help them get unstuck with a bunch of different tools.

i'm an #IndiePublisher, and I co-run EXIT Press with my good friend kitson. we publish the bizarre, the fascinating, the #ghostly, and the terrifyingly #nostalgic. we're interested in the #hauntological, the lost, and finding a fucking exit. we publish LOST FUTURES, a zine about worlds that could have been, should have been, or weren't. we have a small but loyal following, and are publishing some more interesting new work over the next year.

i'm always missing long-form personal writing (livejournal is the 'social media' that i miss the most), and i'm excited that mastodon lets you just... keep writing.

i'm an #abolitionist, and i care about building a more caring world. i'm constantly looking for more tools to help people engage in communities of care more easily, and to help people address violence in all of its many forms.

i'm at the tail end of a phd that got slightly waylaid because my dad died in september. i'm a reluctant 'technologist' (? idk, i build websites), but mostly i just love eating interesting food, spending time with my friends, drinking good coffee (and beer, and wine), and playing #dnd as my lovely lil traumatised warlock Inara.

who are you? (even if I've known you for years, I want to know who you are now! feel free to reply or just link your own introduction post below)
