CW: Walk don’t Talk

‘Australians walk they don’t talk’ is a very old saying. It could also be ‘Australians don’t talk they walk’ It has always fascinated me. I usually equate it to do with shopping but yesterday it hit me. It is because of our constitution and our government.We do not have a ‘right to free speech’ in Australia. If our federal gov wishes to stop us from talking about anything they can.
The new #hatelaws are an example. They can do this.
What offsets this control is 2 things Australians have which the gov can’t touch:
1 the right to #protest
2 our right to #vote#labor was historically created on using the voice, protesting and finally the vote. Today Labor in fed gov is trying to stop us using our voice and both state and fed Labor have tried to stop us protesting.
These changes is being driven by foreign interference and both major parties have capitulated to this. It isn’t to protect Australians, it is to control Australians. They want us not to question but accept.
So ‘Australians walk they don’t talk’.
QLD, again, has taught me a lesson. They started the #labor party with the shearer’s strike. When Newman and the Murdoch controlled media tried to take the QLD voice QLDers didn’t like it. They may be pains in QLD but when they decide to fight back it really is quite amazing.
The federal #election is coming and our federal gov and #media are trying to take our voice. Whether you agree or not you are not getting any choice. It will be an interesting election.
