I never had a problem with #Germany or #Germans. I've lived with Germans, shared office with Germans, and worked remotely with Germans.
My parents had no strongly articulated opinion of Germans, but we never went to Germany as a destination when I was a kid.
My grandfather #hated Germans.
My grandfather was a young child during the rise of #fascism in Germany; he was likely around youngest of the generation of people that grew up and first-hand saw and understood what happened.
It took two generations for the hatred to dissipate. Something to think of for the #US. WW2 "only" lasted half a decade, but it was enough to make the world hate the entire country for half a century. How long has #Trump, in aggregate, been in power again? -

I'm not against a wealth tax, it is a great idea. Nationally. #Democrats think they can do this in California at a time when the friction of moving to another state is low, and retroactive taxes are a little shady even if they do turn out to be legal.
