I mean, ostensibly the answer would be for us to do our best to set a good example and not concern ourselves with how others might (mis)represent our beliefs.

But that runs into:
1. Existence in non-Jewish society.
2. Maintaining non-Jewish friendships and relationships.
3. Intercommunal disputes about #1 and #2 (which is where we are here).

To which, the more #Hassidic answers might make more sense, if you decide that's a viable option for you.
