Sheikh Hasina government spent 135 crore taka ( 15 million dollars in 2020-21) to build murals of herself and her father, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. During the uprising, protesters scrubbed out the murals. Today, these blank murals stand out as a top symbol of the autocracy execesses during its 2009-2024 rule.

The fascists got something right.
In this Eurocentric world, only the European fascism received worldwide cancellation.
Since Bangladeshi fascism is not recognised as fascism by most parts of the world, the fascists are relocating to the safety of the West.
Their plundered money and accumulated privileges through corruption and extortion are helping them in this process.
They have rightly identified that if they can occupy Ivy Leagues, they will have the soft power required to dictate Bangladeshi university campuses.
The anti-fascist camp lacks the understanding, greet, and resources to emulate this.
Bangladesh's empty coffers are going to the top American universities conferring covetted degrees on fascists, who will instrumentalize those degrees to destroy Bangladesh's social fabric and derail its democratic transition.
Never underestimate fascism.
Never underestimate fascism that has had the opportunity of looting and laundering hundreds of billions of US dollars for 15 years.

In the Lalarchak border area of Kulaura, a 14-year-old girl named Swarna Das was killed by gunfire from the Indian Border Security Force (BSF). Two days after the incident, BSF returned the girl's body last evening. Lieutenant Colonel Mizanur Rahman Shikdar, the Sector Commander of BGB's Srimangal Sector, stated that a flag meeting between the company commanders of BSF and BGB was held on Monday afternoon at the Lalarchak border. Further legal action is being taken.
According to local sources, after the girl was killed by BSF's gunfire on Sunday night, her body remained at the Lalarchak border in Sharifpur Union until Monday afternoon, after which BSF took it away. Swarna, a resident of Kalnigor village in West Juri Union, was the daughter of Parendra Das. She was an eighth-grade student at the local Nirod Bihari High School.
Parendra Das and his wife, Sanjita Rani Das, said they have four children. One son has been living in Tripura, India, for a long time. Sanjita, along with her youngest daughter Swarna, attempted to cross into India illegally through the Lalarchak border with the help of two local smugglers to visit her son. A couple from Chittagong was also with them. Around 9 PM, when they reached the barbed wire fence at the Indian border, BSF opened fire indiscriminately, killing Swarna on the spot. The couple with them was also injured. After the gunfire stopped, Sanjita and the others took shelter in a house in Lalarchak village. The injured couple was later sent to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital for treatment.
Swarna's father, Parendra Das, said that on Sunday, Swarna's mother left home with their daughter intending to go to India. On Monday, when he contacted relatives at Swarna's maternal uncle's house in India, he learned that they had not arrived. After searching for them, with the help of an army officer, he rescued Swarna's mother from a smuggler's house in Shamshernagar and brought her home. On Monday, he fully confirmed his daughter's death through BGB.

Former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina faces multiple legal charges, including murder and genocide, with possible extradition from India. Bangladesh’s foreign minister expressed hopes of maintaining good bilateral relations despite the diplomatic complexity. Hasina's legal troubles stem from violent protests in Bangladesh.

⬆️ #Bangladesh's #SheikhHasina did not resign before fleeing to #India, says her son.
"She had planned to… submit her resignation. But then the protesters started marching… And there was no time… As far as the constitution goes, she is still the PM…"
He said though the president had dissolved parliament…, a caretaker government without the prime minister actually formally resigning "can be challenged in court".
#Hasina's #AwamiLeague would contest the next election.

Bangladesch: Übergangsregierung nach Flucht von Premier Hasina
Nach den Massenprotesten in Bangladesch und der Flucht von Premierministerin Hasina hat die Armee angekündigt, eine Übergangsregierung zu bilden. Präsident Shahabuddin ordnete an, Ex-Regierungschefin Zia freizulassen.

Local media also broadcast footage of protesters breaking into Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan’s residence & setting fire to the ruling #AwamiLeague [#AL] party’s office in the capital.
Students have been calling for #Hasina’s resignation & for an end to a govt policy that reserves ½ of govt jobs for certain groups, including family members of those who fought in the country’s 1971 war for independence against Pakistan.
-
Acc/to local media reports, #Hasina escaped her residence mins before it was stormed by protesters. She left for India & was accompanied by her younger sister Sheikh Rehana on the helicopter….
TV footage showed thousands of angry protesters storming the PM’s home, some climbing atop a statue of the country’s founding president, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman—who is also Hasina’s father.
Others recorded videos of themselves inside what appeared to be Hasina’s living room. -
#Hasina’s resignation was officially announced in a televised address by the army chief, Gen. Waker-Uz-Zaman. An interim government will be formed in the coming days, he said. Thousands of protesters had flooded Hasina’s official residence earlier in the day, calling for her ouster. Weeks of bloody clashes between protesters & Hasina’s security forces intensified this past weekend, w/dozens killed on Sunday.
