As the biggest word nerd in the room, I still must admit: I DON'T CARE WHY THE CURTAINS WERE BLUE.

Because you know what happened to people who swallowed that bait? They're leaving five-paragraph-long GODDAMN BOOK REPORTS on GoodReads and looking like this.

Fuuuuck, bro. Nobody fucking cares about your "analysis" of the book. A REVIEW should be Did you like it? Yes or no. Why or why not? I don't care if it's "wrong" or not - I want to know whether or not YOU LIKED it. It's ACTUALLY SUPPOSED TO BE FUCKING PERSONAL.

PS - I'm specifically talking about non-fiction reviews and honestly, show me your doctorate in the subject before I take ANYTHING you say about the CONTENT seriously. A book review REVIEWS THE BOOK, not the scientific theory. YOU CAN STATE THAT YOU DISAGREE WITH THE PREMISE but was the book at least written well enough for you to understand it and come to the conclusion that you disagreed with it? Or do you just THINK you know what words mean? I can't tell, when you're arguing a premise of validity vs craftsmanship.

And this is my great paranoia in songwriting. People will "disagree" with something and think that makes it poor quality. But dammit I KNOW nobody believes me that I was emotionally abused and tortured. But that doesn't fucking matter!! Did I CRAFT THE SONG WELL, OR NOT?

Gawd, please please please please don't ever let the gap between my self-perceived intelligence and actual intelligence become so vast a chasm as theirs.
