  1. Musical Interlude: One of the more intense albums of the 1980s was Richard & Linda Thompson's "Shoot Out the Lights," recorded as their marriage was falling apart into bitterness and resentment. Thankfully, much of that is now in the past; while both have moved on, they have performed together in recent years and are on good terms. But...their last songs together were often reflective of sadness, anger, and betrayal, like this musical reflection of one's sense of coming disaster.
