"Free speech" surely doesn't mean forcing media to publish things they don't want to publish? The government saying "You may not ban this bad-actor"!
Forcing all centralized services like Bluesky to publish harassers and bullies doesn't sound very free to me!

Doing orders for Uber eats picking up food for someone and was harassed by 2 muscular shitheads with American bandanas on thier heads with "what the hell are you wearing" and "come here" I repeated kinky as I entered the place and when I left they demanded I give them the food I yelled snowflakes as I walked away

This sounds like a reason to call for our MPs and other government officials to remove themselves from toxic corporate social media spaces and create government-run spaces, federated into the open social web, so that Canadians can interact with their elected officials and those elected officials can be protected from harassment!

Several years ago, for reasons I cannot comprehend, a local person began harrassing me on FB, accusing me of being a pedophile. I blocked them and put the whole upsetting experience behind me. Then, during lockdown, I was on a zoom call hosted by a local organization and realized that this awful person was one of the folks on the call. I immediately left the meeting and sent a letter to the organizer saying that someone who’d been harrassing me was on the call and I did not feel safe there. They never responded, and I can’t help but wonder if that person noticed I was there and started lying about me to everyone there. Ugh.
I’ve had to deal with so much traumatic harassment on social media. I don’t know how kids deal with it these days. I was bullied horrendously throughout my childhood and it’s only because of my resilience that I survived adolescence. I don’t know that I would have if I’d also been bullied online. #harrassment #bullying #trauma #abuse
