From Arms Races to Harms Races

The nuclear arms race bankrupted the USSR and resulted in poisoning the atmosphere for decades, waste of billions of dollars on weapons that still sit idle in bunkers and will kill billions if they are used. There are many other races that cause harm in a similar manner, share several symptoms with arms races and have similar ways to reduce the harm.
